Great Lakes Garrison is a subdivision of the 501st Legion, the premier Imperial Star Wars costuming group in the world. GLG operates in the state of Michigan and was originally a part of the venerable Midwest Garrison as "Michigan Squad."

GLG provides a network for Star Wars fans in Michigan to build and work on Star Wars props and costumes, and serves the community and various charity organizations. Some of the charities and communities that GLG has worked with include:

AJ's is an indoor/outdoor family fun center which features certain attractions such as- Go-Karts, Bumper Boats, Mini-Golf, Batting Cages, Arcade Games and much more. Troopers and NCS staff will be actively participating in every facet at the fun center activities by helping AJ's staff pass out tickets, food, operate rides, hand outs, gifts and plushies and to be everywhere and anywhere. Join the Monroe Area Cloudbusters Radio Control Club and the 501st at Niki Park for a day of RC action and Star Wars visitation! Parking is available for a $5.00 donation and all proceeds from the event benefit the Monroe Humane Society. (forum link)
