Great Lakes Garrison & Base

Thanks everyone, I had a great time building it. Now it's time to get out and troop. I'm sure I'll find little tweaks my first time out. I already know I'll need to put some fans in the helmet for those hot days. Plus I'll probably get a voice amp/mic so people can hear me outside the helmet.

Ok, so it's been a very productive weekend, minus a few issues. I have all the weathering done on my armor. Man that took a while with the five paint colors I was using. After finishing that I worked on a harness for my thighs and thus is what I came up with. http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p597...

I've also started working on my boots under another thread. Now that I'm close to finishing the armor, I need to finish the boots. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Was able to get most of the green done this weekend. I just need put one more coat on the thighs and lower legs, then it's on to weathering.

Sounds good. However,I have one person on CTN saying that it's painted light gray. I think I can get the same effect with weathering.

Two questions on paint. One: is the com pad a different color or is it white like the armor? I finished the belt yesterday. Was able to get all the boxes on and even sludged in some of my bad trim spots. Overall, I think it turned out ok. The one thing I'm not to crazy about and will probably change is the snap system for putting the two halves together. I think I'm going to try rare earth ...

It's been a while since I made an update on this tutorial, but I finally got my armor and have been working on that. I will continue with this when I get the armor done and need to finish the shoes.

Belt has been fitted and put back together (with spacers). Now I just need to mount the boxes on the belt. Ok, here is the game plan for fixing the belt. I first layed out where the back box goes on each side of the belt. Actually the picture doesn't do it justice. The hole is big/deep enough that E6000 and Super Glue wouldn't do anything for it. That's why I had to use a towel and electical tape to stop it.
