Re: Animated Arc Trooper Updated 6-25-11
Meesa dieing here. Six weeks of hard core work on my Arc Trooper and now I'm waiting for my wife to finish my kama and my backack and guns to show up. I've had nothing substantial to work on in almost 2 weeks :( I got way too much satisfaction putting together my armor. This is going to turn into a ...

Re: Some assembly required.
Wow, makes me glad that CA glue was recommended for my Arc Trooper build. Ten second cure time ftw. Looking forward to seeing this all come together. I can't imagine what it's like doing a TK. At least with a clone you can bondo and paint mistakes.n0c00lgamertag wrote: Dry faster glue! I don't want to wait 24 hours!

Re: Animated Arc Trooper Updated 7-2-11
Here are some progress updates on my kama. Here is the picture I'm using for reference. http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q128/bswedorski/Arc%20Trooper/428px-ARCTrooper1-SOTF.jpg I have two different fabrics selected but I'm on the fence on which one I want to use. The first photo shows the foot ar...

Re: 41st Elite Clone w.i.p.
Painting is not all that bad. Outside of a Mandalorian Helmet, my Arc is my first major armor project. It's just a little time consuming taping things off and making sure they are symmetrical.
Build what you will be happy with not necessarily what is easy IMO.

Re: Animated Arc Trooper Updated 6-25-11
Awesome, Thanks for the quick response. I also got a reply from the maker of the armor and he more or less said the same thing.
So, based on your note above will I still submit my membership pictures through you when the time comes or will they go directly to the LMO?

Re: Animated Arc Trooper Updated 6-27-11
Well, I did a quick mod to the helmet today to correct the issue of my face hitting the visor. Not to mention the slight bruise in the back of my head. Here are a few shots. I used a hacksaw blade to cut off the recess from the inside. I used a bit of tape along the rim of the helmet to prevent any ...

Re: Animated Arc Trooper Updated 6-25-11
There are a few fitting issues I need to address with the build. One of the things in particular are the forearms. I was barely able to remove my helmet with the forearms in place. I pretty much dropped it on my head to get it on. Does it effect approval at all to make cuts to allow for easier movem...

Updates! It's been a busy and productive 2 weeks despite losing 4 nights to various work functions. Re: Animated Arc Trooper Updated 6-14-11
Picture Updates!!!! After spending a lot of time bondoing and sanding, I started getting the base coat of white on the armor. I'm not going to profess to having all of the pin holes and seams completely invisible. It was my first time ever working with bondo and I think I managed a fair job of it. h...

Re: Lens Tint
Thanks, I was thinking the 5 looked way too dark.
There's actually a welding supply shop around the corner from our office. I can get them there for $10-$12.

For those of you that have used welding visors for their helmets can you tell me what shade you used? I'm assuming it's #3 or #5 but not sure which.

OMG I drive by an autozone every day. So I stoppped on the way home and found a can. I could have paid for this paint easily with the gas I spent driving around town. Thanks for the tip.Ripcode wrote:Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Parts or Pep Boys should have that.

Re: Animated Arc Trooper
Updated my build thread over at CTN with some up to date progress pics. Spent a lot of time cutting and sanding this weekend. I could barely hold a knife by the end of Saturday =/ Does anyone happen to know where I can find Vinyl& Fabric Spray paint at. I've tried the local Lowe's, Home Depot, M...

Animated Arc Trooper Submitted 8-16-11
Hey guys, First off, it was great talking to Wags, Fivezero and the other two troopers, sorry forgot the one troopers name and Bly stayed anonymous under the helm at MCCC on Saturday. The con was fun and I found myself a Leia and R2-D2 maquette to add to my collection as well as a nice poster and a ...
