Armor / BBQ Party Saturday 8/28/10

Hello everyone,

I would like to host a armor/ BBQ party sometime in the near future. I need to start working on my daughter Taylor's Biker Scout costume before she gets really ANGRY with me. I looked through the upcoming events and finding a open Saturday is pretty scarce. A Sunday also works for me but not sure about everyone else. The whole family is invited for a day of costume building, grilling and swimming/hanging out by the pool. So if you guys want to start throwing around some open dates please let me know.

I'm shooting for Saturday August 28 for the party. Please let me know if this works for everyone. I live in Macomb Twp 22 & Romeo Plank. I have plenty of tools, grinders, sanders, mig welder, and just about anything else under the sun. I will be grilling Hamburgers, Hot Dog, Brats plus lots of snacks. The Coke machine will be full of ice cold Beer and Pop and don't forget to bring you swimsuit and towel....

I wish I could come but I will be in Florida at that party we all know of. I would love to start working on a Vader costume and this function would be perfect! All I need is another female to show me where to find high healed shoes!

I'll be there! Being my first armor party, i have no idea what i need to bring...well...besides my armor. Lol.

Let me know if i need stuff. Otherwise, I'll just be bringing my armor. It's an FX kit which the previous owner did some initial work to. Looks like he gave it a few scratches too. Anyways, this is my 1st assembly so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bring whatever tools and supplies you have (velcro, adhesives, rivets, etc.), but don't freak out if you're missing anything. The point of armor parties is to gather resources, skills, and knowledge, so if you don't have a riveter, someone else might. Once you put your armor together with others' help, you'll know what tools and supplies you'll need for your own gear when at an event if you have to do repairs and refits (which always happens, and you tend to learn the hard way when your helmet falls apart just before an event begins!).

I am still thinking about going since the date has been changed and it would be good to meet other members, get ideas, etc.
Anybody on the West side going that needs someone to split gas, possibly even driving (or not-if its not my car)??

Although I've got no armor I'd love to come. It'd be fun to see how the armor parties work and see the build up in play for when I eventually order mine. Count me in!

I wanted to reply to my earlier post, but could not find the link.

I would like to come because its a great way to meet friends and get some good advice on building. I would like to know if its ok if I bring a slice of chicken for your grill. I dont eat red meat. Or I can bring something else.
