TIE Pilot Armor Update 9/1/2012

Post by Kram »

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can procure A TIE pilot armor kit. I just feel that the Rubies helmet is not for me and the Don Post is a bit expensive. Also, the body armor and chest boxes I have seen look suspicious and I don't want to throw away money at something that is useless. Any help would be appreciated. :D

You just missed a steal on Ebay.

But you have to be careful what you buy on ebay. Don't bother with the TIE gear from Germany or the Philippines.

Thanks for the link to the forms. Dang that is a really good deal. I have been trying to avoid eBay, I have had some bad dealings on there with other sellers. Do you know much about cosplaysky.com?

Avoid any company that includes the term "cosplay." While I've heard that the coveralls from Cosplayyying is actually decent (as long as you order one size up from your standard size), I've ever personally verified it.

Well today is the day. My armor has come and so far I am please with the way it came out. I am heaver set guy around 5'8" and 220 pounds. I was surprised to find that it fits my body very well. It is made from .90 ABS plastic and is very sturdy. What really makes me happy, that it comes with all the accessory's you need to put it together and it also comes with instructions on how to assemble it. Since this is going to be my first build I am glad that I will have it. The shoulder tiles and straps are also very sturdy and will take a lot to break them. The straps will need to be curved a tiny bit to attach the back plate.

The chest box is also very sturdy and well made also comes with LEDs in the top white and red buttons. Right now I am having trouble getting them to work. I think the box was bumped during shipping and caused something to come loose. But right now it is not a priority and I will try to figure out what is wrong with it after I get everything else complete. Also I have an uncle who is an electrical engineer that is visiting this weekend and maybe he can help me figure out what is wrong. But overall I am really happy with my purchase and here is the progress I am on it so far.

Wow it has been a long time since I have made any progress on my costume build. With this post though I am proud to say that I have only one more piece to complete. I finally received my helmet and now i have some time to work on my flight suit. Hopefully I can get it done before the end of the year and be trooping early next year.
