My new bucket

Post by Tubby Tusken »

Hello, I've been in the 501st for over a year now and said that I found out after 30 troops it was time for a new helmet. The thing I hated most about my old helmet was it was so hard to take it off to get a quick breather. I didn't have a self contain power source I had to run a wire down to my bandolier and the way I had it wrap around my neck I had trouble moving my head which would give me a heck of a stiff neck. It was just to cumbersome and in need of a change. I trooped with some Scout Troopers and liked how the the front of the helmet flipped up and then it hit me like a million voices screaming all at once  that's what I want. So to the drawing board I went and needless to say I had a lot of trial and error. It was hard to make it look as one piece and not have a noticeable seem but I finally got it. So I thought I would share some pics with you all I hope you like it. So far I wore it for 3 troops and let me tell you it is awesome everything is self contain no more wires and I also added some see-thru side vents to give me peripheral vision. So far I have had a lot of people tell me they want one maybe if more are interested I'll start making some.

So enough of my rambling on to the pics.

That's the first Tusken I've EVER seen to use the Biker Scout flip-up method. Wow, I like your approach on this.

That's pretty cool! What size fan did you use in there? I'm working on putting a one in mine, and I'm trying to figure out the best size to put in while keeping the battery pack to a minimum.

the smallest ones i found were at radio shack.

i put a couple of them in my clone and just used a 9 volt battery for each fan. i also put these on each corner so they wouldn't vibrate against the bucket.

hope this helps! :D

Personally, I like this site for getting fans. They're much cheaper than Radio Shack.
