Scout Trooper: Armor...

Post by 311matt1080 »

Well, I received my Scout Trooper (Biker Scout) Armor, Helmet, Soft Parts and Blaster in the mail today!

Now I am sitting here with all of it laid out and feeling a bit overwhelmed. I am having trouble putting everything on and fitting it properly and have also come to the realization that I absolutely CANNOT put most of the armor on by myself. I will require assistance every time I have to suit up. (Oh well...)

I also need to attach my holster to my boot and haven't the slightest on how to do that. (I posted on Bikerscout.net for some help) so no worries.

My flight suit still needs patches and I also still need a vest. Other than that, I am done.

I hope I can find someone on Bikerscout.net to help me on how to get everything on properly. There is a lot more to it than I originally thought.

For instance, I don't understand how the chest armor or back piece is supposed to go on, along with the long piece that velcro's somewhere to the back. I'm a bit frustrated right now and I really hope I don't end up regretting this whole Scout Trooper costume...

Just find another Biker Scout close to where you live and have them show you how to suit up. Most of us need someone to help them get in costume. That's normal.

I saw your post on bikerscout.net as well. I posted there in response also. Tons of help and resources available and not to mention a "getting bigger by the day" detachment of scouts right here in your own backyard. Look for Pandatroopers thread on bikerscout.net. It's top notch and one of the most helpful IMO.

Trust me, If I could pull it off anybody can as I'm am not at all good at this kind of thing. :D

And to reiterate what I put on the scout forums..it is very, very rare that there would be a time you wouldn't have anyone around to lend a quick hand. You will either have family or friends/loved one or another trooper who typically is more than willing to help.

One step at a time and don't let it overwhelm you. Treat it like a puzzle, pick a piece or component that you think is easier and build upon your success.

Thanks guys. I just need to settle down a bit and take it piece by piece.

Wore it to MCCC on Saturday. Lots and lots of compliments.

Everything is all set and ready for official approval.

My dad had a Kidney Stone procedure the today and haven't had time to get the pics taken and sent but will do that ASAP!!! Should be in the next cpl days for sure.

Also have to go back on Bikerscout.net to become an official pathfinder.

It was a bit warm, but after a bit I was okay. Fun time at MCCC. Everyone looked great!

I am going to request TB-10311 as my number. They checked and said it WAS available. SO: any of you Biker Scouts looking for a number - I got dibs on TB-10311. Lol.

I should be submitting in the next cpl days.

I am sure someone will say this also

but make sure you send those photos to Ripcode first. Im sure he will see anything that needs to be fixed if things need to be fixed so you get approved first time around

You might want to send your "dibs" out to the entire world and not just pending GLG TBs. The number 10311 is up for anyone worldwide and is not just regulated to TBs. Any TK, BH, TD, SL, etc... could come along and snag that number at any minute. This was what I was trying to explain to you at MCCC. The Legion approves members everyday. Even the GLG has a few in the pipe as I type this. While the odds may be low that someone could be looking at the same number, it is not impossible. I have seen number choices get taken before a member could get final approval. It happens.

Right on. Not worried about it though.

I'm looking right now (after I type this) where to go for approval pics.
It seems I forgot where to go for that.

Ok, I have Outside AND Inside pics. I guess I'll send them both.

As soon as I remember how to send pics through e-mail. I have to copy from Facebook first.

Grrrr - technology. LOL.

The suede patches that line the inner thighs. From the CRL:

Suede or faux suede thigh patches must be present, extending over the flight suit crotch and down the front finishing above the knee armor. The thigh patches must be secured by 50mm (2") black elastic, sewn in under the front and back of the thigh patch.
