I have purchased a pair of Dublin ladies daily jodhpur boots but they are of course black....so on the shoes ...Has anyone tried Kilz as a basecoat then the gloss white on top of that? I was planning to use acetone on the leather to prepare it for the paint as well as sanding it down a bit!! But I wanted to get your opinions on it!!

I first bought a pair of Jodphur black boots (which I dyed white), wore them for my first few events, but the white started cracking off, so I ended up buying a pair of white boots! I know it's more "movie accurate" to show a bit of the original black, but they looked bad!

Check on the FISD website, but I highly recommend getting white boots from the get-go!

Here's a link of someone dying their boots and what they look like after trooping. If someone steps on your boots you will constantly be touching them up. If you want 100% screen accuracy then go for it.
