GRAND RAPIDS metro area TK armor party

Planning thread for anyone in the metro Grand Rapids area to plan TK armor parties for building all these incoming Anovos armor kits. Find each other here and plan out locations, dates and times.

Hopefully, at least one existing TK will be at the armor party with their own armor to show inexperienced people what finished TK parts look like up close.

PM me your full name please.

And yes the more you do before the better.

As we get closer, I'll also have a list of supplies you need to purchase.

AMEN to this and THANK YOU, Ripcode--ten a.m. sharp! Looking forward to assembling our white, plastic cocoons with all who can join! I'll bring some beer and buy a couple-three pizzas! --Jayson

Andy plans on joining us (Depending on weather). I will ask him to bring his TK along as reference.

If you do not have all the tools and supplies, I have Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, Hobby Lobby and House of Hobbies all within 5 - 20 minutes away.

Bring - Medium CA, CA Accelerator, duct tape, masking tape, cutting tools.

I have a drill press and benchtop belt sander, heat gun, etc on handy.

If you pre trim, save ALL your scraps!

I am located in Holland but I will be gone for this first event. I would like to make it to any others coming up at the end of the month. I just received my Anovos box today and am gathering the supplies for a build. I'll keep looking at this tread when I return in a few weeks. Thanks!

No problem. Everyone is going to need more than one armor party to build their suits, anyway. I'm sure there will be another one on your side of the state at some point.

I've got a kit coming, not ANOVOS, however. Still ok to hit a party even though it's a different manufacturer?
(Jay, I'm still going to try to hit your place, even if it's just to watch and learn).

Okay dokey... so... this is a big list. ;-) We have a bunch of stuff already, but: Do we need to buy everything listed in the link above? Are we doing the snaps or velcro method for this build? Are snaps Centurion level if that was a goal in the future? (I know nothing, by the way, total noob for ABS armor)....

Under materials, it lists lots of elastic... I thought we needed lots of velcro, not elastic... so should we pick up the elastic as listed above in the link?

Anything on the list we really don't have to worry about? I don't know if the link above is a similar style build to what Ripcord is teaching...

I know we really appreciate all the help... Hubby Dj (BaldLeprechaun on here), is excited for Saturday!! I will be home with the toddler. You are welcome. ;-) I am pregnant, so not quite trooping the rest of this year, just NCS for me.

THANK YOU THANK YOU guys!
