Jackie Wagensomer
Legion ID: 3411
Joined March, 2009

Jackie Wagensomer's earliest Star Wars memory takes her back to playing with the original toys when they first came out, she was as she said she was "too young to go see the movie." Being the only girl in a neighborhood of 5 boys, she was always stuck playing with them and their action figures. By default, she was always Princess Leia.

Jackie enjoys every event for different reasons. "Whether it’s the fun we have or the smiles and awe-struck looks from the kids, every event is worth every moment!" Motor City Comic Con in 2009 was her first event in armor so "that holds a special place in my heart."

Being a part of the 50st has changed her life in many ways. Jackie says that she's been blessed to make so many new and wonderful friends and loves the fact that her and her husband Tony (CC-7195)'s garage (The Man Cave) is usually a flurry of activity with so many costumes being made. She also enjoys the downtime just visiting with friends. One of the biggest changes for her has been the smiles on so many children’s faces when they see one of the characters.
"To witness it is cool. To live it from inside the costume brings me so much joy!"

When asked abut her board name, Jackie says "My husband created it for me. He’s Wags, I’m his better half, so it became 'mama_wags.'"

Outside of the Legion, Jackie is a Senior Human Resource Specialist for a medical device and infection prevention manufacturer and is responsible for staffing, administration, and labor relations for two UAW-represented facilities. She loves to spend time with her kids and their various activities, loves to read and "will lose myself in a book for an entire day if I can!"

She also has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management, a Professional in Human Resources Certification, and is one class away from her Masters Degree in Human Resource Management. She's also the very proud mom to "three wonderful kids – my best accomplishment yet!"
