1) Sign up at www.501st.com forum. This is a bank of information across the sea of Star Wars (Empire) costumes.
Actually, that forum is for 501st members only, so he won't be able to sign up for that one. ;)

Re: Intro

Welcome! If you have not already, register for the forums at 501stclonetroopers.com. Everything you need to learn about building a clone can be found there. Almost everything you need to buy can be found in the sales section of that forum.

Re: Intro

Welcome! Unfortunately, there aren't too many armor parties these days. Your best bet would be to pick the costume you want to do and do a massive amount of reading/research on the detachment forums. Just about everything you need to learn can be found on the forums.

Re: Merch

You have to have a costume built and be a full member in order to be able to get merch. Lucasfilm doesn't allow us to sell merch to the general public.

Welcome. I usually give the following advice to new people. Good luck! :D Read here first:  https://databank.501st.com/databank/Join_Us Then sign up for the detachment of the character you want to do. The "detachments" are the character-specific web sites we have set up where you can find armor vend...

Re: Looking for build tips and tricks

We have character-specific web sites called "detachments" where you can find armor vendors and all the info on how to put it all together. Do a ton of reading/research into the costume you want to do before buying anything. You can find the list of detachments here: https://www.501st.com/detachments...

Aerators.

I believe Galactic Armory has accurate files. I know a few people have been approved with their armor.

Re: Stormtrooper Costume for Trade - Fun Project w/a local brewery

Hi. Sorry, but our costumes are our personal property, some costing $5,000 or more and we don't like to loan them out to people. Plus with the virus going around, it would be a bad idea anyways. :)

Thanks for the tips. 50 gal has been about the size I'm looking at. Good to hear her Fett fits in there nicely. Helmet included? I've been looking at helmet bags in addition to a case.
The Dewalt linked above is 63 gallons. Probably better to get that one.

Re: Costuming question

They can just buy the costume. Have your friend register for the forums at imperialofficer.com. Cosplaysky has the most inexpensive costumes, but there is A LOT to read up on before ordering from them. Even if you send in custom measurements, they tend to mess things up. And the hat and belt they se...

To add to this: a lot of people belong to one garrison and will troop in their own garrison and will also troop a neighboring one as a "guest trooper".

That's kind of odd, given the Legion stance that weapons are not required for costumes.
