Hello my name is Eric and I am new here. I’m from a grand Blanc and just ordered my first set of armor. I’ve been quite interested in this for a while but after going to a comicon last year and seeing someone I knew that was a member of the 501st and after talking to him a bit about things I decided to pull the trigger and start the process of becoming a 501st member. I’m looking forward to having an armor party once everything arrives and will be a NCS here in March at an event. Thank you for all that you do when it comes to children that are in hospitals especially when you visit the cancer ward as this is very close to my heart and I cannot wait to join in on putting smiles on those children’s faces!

Welcome! What kit did you purchase? We are having an armor party in the Novi/Wixom area mid April. I can send you the details if you are interested. I can also give you NCS forum access if you are interested in doing that until you finish your armor.

Re: New member
I would be interested in another forum. I purchased the kit from MakerOfThings via ETSY as it was the one suggested to me and is a screen worn reproduction
Re: New member
Welcome! We've got a lot of super knowledgeable builders in the garrison that can offer advice if you're able to make it out to an armor party sometime.

I think my friend Duane TK48420 will be having one for me as he mentioned doing so. Just hope to have this built and approved without breaking the bank to bad lol.

Best advice I can give, especially if you're building a stormtrooper, is to register on https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/. The people over there are experts in the subject and the website has 20+ years of knowledge and recommendations to help make sure you don't buy from unreputable vendors.

Re: New member
Well I’ve already purchased lol. The vendor I purchased from my friend has purchased at least 3 kits from and is approved so I went with his suggestion.masteroftheforce wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 10:48 pm Best advice I can give, especially if you're building a stormtrooper, is to register on https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/. The last I knew, Maker of Things was blacklisted by the different detachment forums for being a recaster.

You purchased the armor, yes. But there are also boots, gloves, base layer, tips on assembly, etc. There are multiple ways to go about it and some may work better for you than others. I'm just trying to help you by showing you the different resources available. It sounds like you are off to a good start.
To the point of the makers reputation, that won't prevent your armor from being approved. All we care about is if the final product matches the crl.

Thanks for your reply as I misunderstood your comment before so thank you for the clarity! I’ve been searching that other forum a lot as well and have quite a few things already saved and awaiting payday again lol. I’ve also been watching assembly videos on YouTubemasteroftheforce wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2026 9:56 am You purchased the armor, yes.
